About the Author
Josée Masse has always been drawing. Her father was a painter and as a child she remembers painting with him in his studio. After studying graphic arts in Montreal, she worked as a graphic designer before beginning her career as an illustrator. Josée loves illustrating books for children and enjoys working in her studio near Montreal.

Major omission...

While this book is easy to read, and the illustrations are really good. there are however, major gaps in the story. The most glaring one is the omission of the fall. This is the pivotal point at which mankind rejects God and the point from which God work his plan to restore us to him again. So without this critical aspect being in The Story for children the rest seems rather pointless. A major omission that I hope will be rectified in future editions of The Story for Little ones

Perfect 1st bible for my 2 year old!

I checked out a few of the storybook bibles here on Amazon before I came across this one. I am so glad Amazon has the "Look Inside" feature. After viewing the few sample pictures, I knew immediately "The Story for Little Ones" was perfect for my 2 and 1/2 year old. The illustrations are so sweet and colorful, and the bible passages are a great length for toddlers. The book is nice and large too, which makes the vivid pictures even more impressive. Yet, it isn't too heavy, running about 100 or so pages. I think this is absolutely the perfect gift to give a young family about to have a baby. My mother-in-law habitually buys full length bibles such as Precious Moments, then has them personalized before gifting to a new baby. While they are certainly lovely, thoughtful gifts, they are also not something I would dare let my child handle for several years due to those tissue thin pages. Also, having very few pictures, these bibles are not very engaging to my kids. "The Story" on the other hand really captures my little guys attention. So, to all the grandparents out there who love to give bibles to new babies, I am talking to you!! Buy this one! There is a nice page in the front for you to simply write the child's name and/ or leave a little message from Grandma.

Wonderful Bible Story book for small children

The Story For Little Ones is a wonderful book with full color illustrations that brings the Bible to life for young readers with thirty one stories from the Old and New Testament. This book starts In the Beginning and goes through Christ's Return with stories of David, Samuel, Esther, Baby Jesus, Paul, Jesus and the Children and many more. The stories are told in a child-like way making them fun, interesting and exciting to read and listen to.
What can I say except WOW! I love, love, love this Bible Story Book!! The illustrations by Josee Masse are totally awesome! The vibrant and muted colors blend beautifully together making them pleasing to the eyes and fun to look at. I love the child like people and animals, houses and landscapes the artist creates, giving a child like feeling to the wonderful and precious Word of God. What an awesome way to teach children about God and His Word. I appreciate Zondervan publishing an awesome Bible Story book like this that I can use to teach my 2 year old niece about our Lord. She loves it! She loves the pictures, people, animals, water, landscapes, and she calls it hers. "It's all mine" she says!
I highly recommend this adorable Bible story book for your child's library. This would be a really good addition to a children's Sunday School class as well.
