Great little book

I love these little books that are in English and Spanish and tell a Biblically based Story.
The book is true to the Story of David and Goliath. In 32 pages with one paragraph a page, the author introduces all the characters that are pertinent to the David and Goliath story line. First David and his brothers come into the picture. Then enters King Saul in his most benevolent mood. The army of King Saul and the army of the Giants each take form and we know that kids like stories about battles and armies. If the child was not totally engaged in the story up to this point, he will be now. Armies and Giants. What more could a child ask for.
Then David, the small child kills the Giant and becomes the hero, just as in the real story in the Bible. Children love to be winners and it is best to be a winner for God. This book has it all.
The tale unwinds just as it does in the Bible with King Saul being totally pleased and David walking off the platform as the hero.
The Spanish translation of the book coincides exactly with the English words. I bought this book to send to a young friend who lives in Mexico. I have her mother's permission to send her Bible based books. I feel that my friend, who wants badly to learn English, will be able to work back and forth between the English and Spanish words easily picking out which English Word goes with the Spanish one. Her mother will be there to help her with verbs.
Although there are 32 pages in the book, each page is only a paragraph long. A child's interest should easily be kept.
I really like the illustrations. Characters come in all different colors and any child should find it easy to identify with someone in the book. Sombody will look like him. The artist who did the facial expressions did, in my estimation, an outstanding job. A hook of an eyebrow here and a quirk of the mouth there and the child should see expressions that he is used to seeing in his home environment. There are smiles, frowns, questions, thoughtfullness and many other emotions represented.
I would be hard pressed to find a better way to spend $3.99 than to spend it on my little friend in Mexico by purchasing this Biblical English/Spanish translation. I have read these books in spanish/ English and in their plain English versions. I think they are great buys which easily contribute to the spiritual development of any child. Hope you will be as pleased with them as I have been. If you do not need Spanish/English, then just buy the English variety.
In addition to buying various books in this series for my friend in Mexico, I have also spent the tiny amount it takes to buy them as Christmas gifts to give to the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Hope you will also find a charitable interest which would be the grateful recipient of these items.

Improve the Spanish translation...

The Spanish redaction version needs to be improved....look for a native Spanish teacher or book author...me gusta el tema pero requiere revision del Spanish...
